- Board-Certified Dermatologist
Faris Hawit, MD FAAD
Dr. Faris Hawit is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. He completed his undergraduate education at The Johns Hopkins University, with election to Phi Beta Kappa, and received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins in 2001. He finished his training in Dermatology at Columbia University, St.Luke’s- Roosevelt Hospital, in New York City and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Hawit has extensive experience in the management of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. He has advanced training in both cosmetic and skin cancer surgery, including Moh’s Micrographic Surgery. He is board certified in Moh’s Micrographic Skin Cancer Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Society for Moh’s Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Ethics Committee and Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine at CalvertHealth Medical Center. He has been recognized locally for his efforts in skin cancer prevention and was voted Best Dermatologist by the Bay Weekly newspaper.
He resides in Calvert County with his wife and children.

Heather Montgomery, DCNP
Ms. Montgomery is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors from Towson University, and her Master of Science in Nursing, also with honors, from The Catholic University of America.
Dedicated to delivering the highest standard of patient care, Ms. Montgomery stays current with the latest advances in medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology through ongoing continuing education, national conferences, and advanced hands-on training. In recognition of her commitment to excellence and exceptional patient care, she was honored as Best Dermatologist in the 2025 Southern Maryland News Readers’ Choice Awards.
Ms. Montgomery provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions, including skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and other acute and chronic dermatologic diseases. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention and early detection and emphasizes thorough skin examinations and patient education to help promote lifelong skin health.
She also has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology and offers personalized treatment plans using injectable neuromodulators, dermal fillers, laser procedures, microneedling, and other skin rejuvenation techniques. Known for her attentive and compassionate approach, Ms. Montgomery partners closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans that enhance their natural beauty while helping them achieve their aesthetic goals with confidence.
Outside of the office, Ms. Montgomery lives in Calvert County with her husband and their two daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and has a lifelong passion for equestrian sports.

Sarah joined Calvert Dermatology in 2025, bringing years of nursing experience and a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
NP Scaggs performs comprehensive skin examinations for the early detection of skin cancer and is experienced in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions, including skin cancer. She strives to ensure every patient feels heard, informed, and confident in their care while working together to achieve lifelong skin health.
Sarah enjoys helping patients look and feel their best by providing the knowledge and tools they need to maintain healthy skin. Whether performing cosmetic procedures such as laser treatments and microneedling or creating personalized skincare regimens and home care plans, she is dedicated to addressing each patient’s unique skin concerns.
When she’s not working, you can find Sarah reading, cooking, or training for her next sprint triathlon. She’s never found a thrift store she didn’t like. Sarah grew up in Calvert County and lives here with her husband, their two children, and a lovable mutt named Cooper, whom she’s quite obsessed with.
